GALEX Status Update
Engineers and scientists with NASA's Galaxy Evolution Explorer are trying to pinpoint the cause of an anomaly with the satellite's instrument processor, which has prevented the science instrument from operating since June 13. The processor might be halting or stuck in a repetitive mode, or loop, causing the science instrument to shut down. The team is in the process of developing a recovery plan.
